Year 6 made us very proud today when they showed the utmost respect during our Remembrance Service at the War Memorial.
It was lovely to hear personal reflections and thoughts from children about their relatives that died in the war. The flag was dropped to half-mast for our 2 minute silence and the Exhortation was read.
After the sounding of the Reveille, the children all recited the poem 'Dreamers' by Siegfried Sassoon and one of our Year 6 children rewrote and read aloud her own version of the poem from the perspective of Siegfried's wife waiting back at home, which was very moving.
We have a few videos of some of our readings below.
