To kick off our Anglo-Saxon and Viking topic, Year 3/4 took a trip to Butser Ancient Farm - an experimental archaeology site.
The children got to see and experience a tiny slice of what Anglo Saxon life would have been like.
We took part in an archaeological dig to uncover some Anglo-Saxon artefacts, sat in an Anglo-Saxon house, spun wool just like the Anglo-Saxons might have to make clothes, and carved our very own chalk runes using flint and the Anglo-Saxon alphabet.
We had so much fun, and learnt lots about what life might have been like for the Saxons!
The behaviour from the children was exemplary, so a huge well done to you all!
See if you can find yourself in the photos!
