We’re all ready and waiting for the coach to arrive! We’re very excited, and we have spent some time looking through the Stubbington website researching the activities and finding out more about our upcoming residential.
Stay tuned to find out more about our adventure!
13:00
We’re all arrived and safe! We’ve found out our dorms, and we’ve had our site tour from Mr Scarborough and the other Stubbington staff.
We’ve had some delicious food at ‘The Snuffle Hole’ (we’ll learn why the dining hall is called that later!) and we’ll be doing our first activity down at the beach afterwards.
More photos to come this evening!
16:00
A brilliant start to our time at Stubbington! We went down to the beach and explored rock pools, studying all sorts of creatures. We then made some sea-themed beach sculptures - can you guess what we made? Finally, we did a a beach fossil hunt! We found lots of interesting ancient shells and fossils which the children can bring home as a souvenir.
The children are in their dorm rooms unpacking - they are all very excited for dinner this evening!
17:30
A bit of free time on the adventure playground before dinner!
18:30
After dinner, we get some time each day to fill in our Stubbington Diaries! This is a lovely chance to reflect on the day, and we hope the children can bring their diaries home with them to talk through what they did each day with their adults at home.
We have a wildlife talk this evening and then we’ll get ourselves off to bed to get a good night’s sleep (we hope!) ahead of a busy day tomorrow.
19:00
Stubbington wildlife talk to learn about all the animals which inhabit the Stubbington site - hopefully we see some in person when we get our chance to go to the hide on Wednesday!
21:30
Day One in the books! I hope I’m not jinxing it, but all the children have gone off to bed amazingly well and all is quiet BEFORE lights out! 😱
Going to the beach and fossil hunting, along with beach art were some highlights of the day.
Stay tuned tomorrow to keep up to date with all we get up to!
