Day 3

Wednesday

After a fantastic nights sleep, most of the children had to be woken just after 7 today.

A cooked breakfast set us up for the day and warmed us before bracing the elements on our beach scavenger hunt this morning. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow for many photos on the beach but we had some great finds, including a live crab!
Shooting has been another exciting event of the morning; luckily no one was harmed in the experience! Group 3 took on their second ski challenge and group 2 also got to have a go at archery this morning.

During lunchtime, the children loved playing on the beach in the wind. We have many flushed, wind-swept cheeks!

This afternoon, the sun returned and groups one and two headed off on the minibus to Spratsdown Woods for orienteering. They developed their mapping skills by following two trails and then hunted for their hidden cups. Meanwhile, group three developed their initiative skills and had their first go at climbing.

This evening’s entertainment was ‘Epic Engineering’. The children worked in teams using giant meccano to create various shapes and models.

It’s been another action-packed but enjoyable day; whilst the adults are exhausted, the children’s energy is endless and they are maximising every moment. 🤩
