Autumn Week 1

Collaborative Vocabulary Work

We jumped straight back into writing this week, getting started on generating high quality words and phrases to help us with our upcoming English unit; 'When the Giant Stirred.'

 

The children generated loads of exciting language about volcanoes, and I'm really excited to see where they take these ideas!

Hot Seating in English

We started the year with a mini-unit on 'Joy Story', which is focused on the idea of being kind and not judging a book by it's cover.

The children used hot seating to help get into the character's thoughts and feelings, and we were then able to get some high quality thinking and discussion around how the character's might feel and react.
