With God's love, all are encouraged to thrive

Week of 8th November

Thank you all for supplying a beautiful range of fruit and vegetables for our art today.  We have done a lot of sketching of our produce and then spent time finding out about the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo.  He was famous for his portraits of people made with flowers, fruit and vegetables.  We created our own with our produce - the tigers wanted to make a tiger's face!

The other highlight this week was our RE unit on Diwali, the Hindu festival of light.  We looked at the artist Jackson Pollock and created our own firework pictures.  As well as this we found out all about Diwali and were helped with this by two children in our class who had just celebrated this festival at home.

Today we started our Titanic topic and looked at ice in water, showing how an iceberg would be partly submerged and read the amazing book "Samson's Titanic Journey."  Have a lovely weekend.

Love from Miss Reid
