We are now into the full flow of the school term and the children are immersed in their lessons and new learning. This week we have been writing our narratives based on our book Flood by Alvaro F.Villa. The children have used a fantastic range of descriptive and figurative language and focused carefully on how the mood and atmosphere changes throughout the book.

 

We are really enjoying our class reader: Floodland. In outdoor learning on Monday, we were set the challenge to create a raft to help one of the characters leave the island.

 

On Thursday, science brought even more excitement when Mrs Simmons brought in a trout to school connecting both our geography work on rivers and science work on variation! Check out the photos below.
