This week our year 6 children have been busy taking part in Bikeability. Despite the cold, they have a fantastic time learning how to ride safely on the roads. Some children faced their fears this week and some even learnt to ride for the first time; we are very proud of them.
On Tuesday afternoon, year 5 had the classroom to themselves and they chose to practice and perform one of our 'Wild World' poems for year 6 when they came back. The theme of the poem was Coral Reef and we had some fantastic use of actions and drama including Tom's unforgettable wiggle and Wilfred, Sam and Jenson's impression of the trechurous shark! As well as performing the poems, the children have been learning about author's intent when writing and exploring vocabulary choices and their effect.
