Crime and Punishment in the 21st Century

Today Sergeant Holland came to visit Y5/6 to help us understand how crime and punishment has changed in the 21st Century. We found out all about how they can use fingerprints and DNA to detect crimes as well as how the focus has changed from punishment to rehabilitation.

Towards the end of the talk, Mrs Davenport came in to report that her biscuits had been stolen from the staffroom! We were all suspects and had to have our fingerprints taken so that the crime could be solved. It turned out that Mrs Holland was the guilty one and we watched as Sergeant Holland handcuffed her for committing this terrible offence!
