Autumn Week 7

It has been a very busy week in Year 5/6 this week!

We have been doing lots of practise test papers to help us prepare (and realise that actually - tests aren't that scary!)

All the children have been brilliant at focusing, and have done a fantastic job coping with a very different classroom environment to normal!

As well as this, we have been really looking into our topic this week, researching and finding out all about tsunamis - make sure you ask your children to tell you what they have learnt and I'm sure you'll be impressed! We chose the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004 as a case study, and studied the lasting impact these natural disasters can have.

In English, we have been writing formal letters to the parents of Year 5 children, with the purpose of persuading them to let their children come on the Calshot residential trip next year - keep your eyes peeled as we will be sending out some of these letters soon!

Well done this week Gazelles - have a super (and well deserved) half term break!

PS: Can you spot the parenthesis I've used?? Let me know when we come back for a dojo point!

Mr O'Dowd :)
